Me and My M16 I have to say that shooting guns is a lot of fun, but nobody should be allowed to keep one of these in the house. I fired this baby and the AK47 below on fully automatic, which takes about 1 second to empty the 30 rounds in the magazine. It costs $1 per round, so that's $30 per magazine, which literally goes up in smoke in about 1 second. This photo was taken with a disposable camera, which is pretty amazing; if you look closely, you can even see the ejecting brass.

Me and My AK47 Same thing, but with my AK47. I actually hit the target and knocked it over, which is no mean feat; if you've fired one of these things on fully automatic, you normally hit everything BUT the target. In later photos, you'll see me wearing a Vietnamese soldier's hat, that's what I got for hitting the target. For more information about the Star Ferry here's the link Star Ferry |

The Hidden Tunnel Entrance Like the title says, this is the hidden entrance to one of the underground tunnels used by the Viet Cong. My guide challenged me to find the entrance, and I walked around on top of it for several minutes without finding it. Oh yeah, and there's that hat I mentioned. |

Discovery After being shown the tunnel entrance, by my guide, I couldn't believe how small it was; about the size of a shoe box I would say. For more on my life and travels in Taiwan including photos and information click on the link Paul's Travels Taiwan You can also find Taiwan Hotels here. |

Boldly Going Where Much Bolder Men Have Gone Before So down I went, and I have to be honest, this is as far down this particular tunnel as I dare go without fear of getting stuck. Your average American soldier during the Vietnam war, who were probably much larger than me, wouldn't have had a chance of getting down one of these. There was a particular brand of soldier called a Tunnel Rat, who was brave or crazy enough to go down here to fight the Viet Cong. I have a lot of admiration for these guys. I also have a lot of admiration for the Vietnamese who lived and worked in these hell holes for years.

It's On Hands and Knees to Get Through This Bit Didn't actually take this photo. I went to Ocean Park about 13 years ago and I think the photos are back in England somewhere. Ocean Park, however, is still an attraction worth seeing. From what I remember, it's a bus ride from Central in Hong Kong and then I seem to remember taking a long cable car ride to get there. Anyway check the link below for more acurate details. Emerging From a Lower Level The Tunnels went down several levels and had all kinds of measures to prevent gas, water etc from penetrating them. This is me emerging from a deeper tunnel to a more shallow one.
